WORLD MAP

Using one of the tools of this platform (image hotspots), you can create an interactive map during the session. The content on the map can show where individual parents (or their families) originally came from, and which languages they speak. 

We have created an example of such a map, which you can find on the platform. This example can be used as a template, and you can edit it when working with your group of parents. 

You can also use the map you created during the session with your group to stimulate other activities which invite parents to share more about themselves with the group. 

'MORE ABOUT YOU'

A) GROUP DISCUSSION

Parents in your group could be asked to talk to another person on the course, and introduce themselves. Where do their families originally come from? Which languages do they know? How old are their children? Where were they born? When did they come to England?

They could also be invited to tell us a personal story: How did they come to live in England? How do they keep in touch with family and/or traditions from abroad? 

B) FORUM: More about you

You could also invite the parents in your group to join a forum on the VLE. Here they can be invited to share some information about themselves with the group in writing a few sentences and adding a picture (or even an audio- or video file) about themselves. 

Parents could reply in English, or in their heritage language. During the session, you could spend some time, adding translations and making the forum 'multi-lingual'.

Here is an example. 

My name is Sylwia. I come from Poland. My husband is from Poland. We came to England in 2009. We have two children, Alina (5) and Aron (3). They were born in England. At home we speak mainly Polish, and sometimes a little bit of English.

MAPPA DEL MONDO

Utilizzando uno degli strumenti di questa piattaforma (hotspot-immagine), potete creare una mappa interattiva nel corso della sessione. Il contenuto sulla mappa può mostrare da dove i singoli genitori e le loro famiglie provengono, e quali lingue parlano.

Abbiamo creato un esempio di tale mappa, che potete trovare in piattaforma. Questo esempio può essere usato come modello, e potete editarlo lavorando col vostro gruppo di genitori.

 Potete usare anche la mappa che avete creato durante la vostra sessione di lavoro con i genitori, per stimolare altre attività che invitino i genitori a condividere all’interno del gruppo più elementi della propria esperienza.

'QUALCOSA IN PIÙ SU DI VOI'

A) DISCUSSIONE DI GRUPPO

Si può chiedere ai genitori del vostro gruppo di  A discutere con un’altra persona nel gruppo e presentarsi a vicenda. Da dove provengono originariamente le loro famiglie? Quali lingue conoscono? Quanti anni hanno i loro bambini?  Dove sono nati? Quando sono arrivati nel paese di destinazione?

Possono anche essere invitati a raccontarci una storia personale: come sono arrivati a vivere qui? Come si tengono in contatto con la famiglia o le tradizioni del loro paese d’origine?

B) FORUM: QUALCOSA DI PIÙ SU DI VOI

Potete anche invitare i genitori del vostro gruppo a partecipare a un forum sul VLE.  qui, possono essere invitati a condividere informazioni su di sé, scrivendo alcune frasi, e aggiungendo un’immagine, oppure anche un file audio video.

I genitori possono rispondere in inglese, oppure nella propria lingua d’origine. Durante la sessione, potrete dedicare un po’ di tempo ad aggiungere traduzioni e a rendere i forum multilingue.

 Mi chiamo Sylwia. Vengo dalla Polonia, mio marito e polacco. Siamo arrivati qui nel 2009. Abbiamo due bambini, Alina (5) e Aron (3). Sono nati qui.  A casa parliamo soprattutto polacco, e qualche volta un po’ di italiano
