Goals:

The activity aims at giving visibility to multilingualism and multiculturalism and at increasing the active participation of the children.

Links to the curriculum:

Language skills in the languages of the curriculum (English, Italian...), Geography, History.

Procedure:

• The teacher invites the children to explore along with their family their countries and regions of provenience and the languages and dialects of their parents.
• Children and teachers together create a world map which keep track of the cultural and linguistic richness  of the families of the class.
• In order to enrich the map, the children are invited to bring to school images and pictures of their families and their countries of origin.

Materials and digital tools:
