World tour in 80 languages
Goals:
The activity aims at giving visibility to multilingualism and multiculturalism and at increasing the active participation of the children.
Links to the curriculum:
Language skills in the languages of the curriculum (English, Italian...), Geography, History.
Procedure:
- The teacher invites the children to explore along with their family their countries and regions of provenience and the languages and dialects of their parents.
- Children and teachers together create a world map which keep track of the cultural and linguistic richness of the families of the class.
- In order to enrich the map, the children are invited to bring to school images and pictures of their families and their countries of origin.
Materials and digital tools:

Further development:
- This activity can be carried out in integration with the Interview with my parents, which involves the children in carrying out an interview to collect information on the lives and linguistic repertoires of their parents.
